ACTIVITIES OFFERED AT SECOND UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Sunday School: 9:45-10:45 AM. Graded classes for infants through high school.
Adult classes are by interest for men, women, co-ed, couples, and young adults.
Kids for Christ: Elementary (K-5) group meets twice each month.
Youth Fellowship: Junior and Senior High Youth Groups meet each Wednesday evening for Bible Study.
Also, other seasonal youth programs and special events. Each summer, the Youth Fellowship go on a
a Work Camp.
Senior Citizens: Senior adult group meets once each month for a meal and a program.
Vacation Bible School: Held annually for one week each summer.
Library: A Media center is available with reference and inspirational books for all ages.
Varied Programs: Second Church also offers a variety of other seasonal events and activities.
Worship Services: Services are held each Sunday Morning at 11:00 AM, with special services throughout
the year.
Music: Senior Choir practices one night each week. Seasonal programs are presented at Easter and
Christmas.
Nursery: A nursery, staffed by experienced adult volunteers, is offered each Sunday at the 11:00 AM
worship service, and Sunday School hour.
Women's Guild: The Guild, open to all women of the Church, meets monthly with individual Circles also
meeting once a month. Special activities also are planned for anyone wanting to participate.
Women's Spirituality: Support group that meets periodically to promote women"s spirituality in today's
society.
Men's Fellowship: Open to all men of the Church, the organization meets monthly with special functions
to develop and maintain church fellowship.
CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRIES
Volunteers visit, on a weekly basis, members who are hospitalized or unable to attend due to age and/or
health reasons.
Tape ministry: Tapes of the Sunday worship services are delivered weekly to shut-ins.
OTHER MINISTRIES
Leonard Lenten Series: Annual series which focuses on specific issues in today's Christian Society.
2nd Thursday at Second UCC: Monthly program designed to offer a time of fellowship with others.
Generally consists of a meal followed by a short program.
Annual Community Picnic: Held each year in late spring. The members of the community are invited for
free activities, music, and food.
Social Ministry: For members of the community who need assistance with food or money. They are
assisted on a weekly basis.
